Rescheduled Introduction to disc throwing course – 16 Jan at Carindale

QDG will now be holding the disc golf technique coaching session on Saturday 16 January 2021 at the Carindale disc golf course after league day.

The previously planned session for Saturday 9 January 2021 at the Rocklea disc golf course was postponed after the lockdown was imposed on the greater Brisbane area in response to COVID-19.

This session is geared for new players as well as those who want to help others to learn. We’ll go through the basics of throwing backhand and forehand, and provide elemental analysis of your throws, with guidance on how to analyse others’ throws.

We won’t cover variations in disc flight characteristics and the more complex throw biomechanics including run-ups, as these will be provided in future sessions, along with rules and course management / strategies / tactics to improve your scores. Beginners will typically be throwing nearly twice the length of their first throws with greater accuracy after a 2-hour session.

This session would give all the knowledge and skills that you would need to support QDG as a volunteer at the Pine Rivers Come-n-try days.

This session will be free, but will be limited in numbers because of COVID requirements and coaching capacity, so get your name in soon. Register by emailing queenslanddiscgolf@gmail.com.
