I wanted to provide those interested with an update and more information on the courses under construction in the Brisbane City Council catchment.
- Freney St Park Disc Golf Course – Rocklea (12 holes)
This course is likely to be completed in the second week of July. All holes will feature a concrete tee-pad and RAD DisCatcher Pro basket. There are 2 x par-4 holes and 10 x par-3 holes. Most holes are between 70m – 90m in length with a variety of wooded and open fairways. Stable Swamp Creek runs through the park which comes into play on a number of holes (watch out for hole #6 & #9).
2. Cadogen St Park Disc Golf Course – Carindale (18 holes)
This course is in early stages of construction with completion expected in early July. All holes will feature a concrete tee-pad and RAD DisCatcher Pro basket. There are 4 x par-4 holes, 1 x par-5 and the rest par-3. Most holes are 85m or longer with a wide variety of throws. Bulimba Creek runs through the park and comes into play on a number of holes (watch out for hole #9!).
Both courses will require line marking of teepads, top-soiling and turf laying. Please respect the council construction process and stay away from parks – we are already receiving complaints about nosey players.
I will advise when the courses are available for play.
Thanks,
Aaron Moreton – QDG Inc President
