Australia’s first disc golf World Champ!

The man, the myth, the legend – Bruce McNaughton, aka The General, aka Bro Frisbee – now has a new name to add to the list, ‘The Champ’.

On 27 July 2019, Bruce was crowned Amateur Masters 65+ Disc Golf World Champion, making him Australia’s first disc golf World Champ!

After a gruelling 7.5 round (135 holes!) slog, Bruce sealed a convincing 11-stroke win over his nearest competitor. Just imagine how big that win would have been if he had a serviceable backhand!

There was a nice little shout out to Bruce and the Australian disc golf community in this week’s episode of PDGA Radio’s podcast and a really nice write up of Bruce’s win by Kingsley Flett on the Australian Disc Golf website.

A huge congrats to Bruce from QDG and congrats to all other winners and competitors in this year’s Amateur Disc Golf World Championships.

  1. Heartiest congratulations to Bruce. That was a Tiger Woods sized gap between you and second place! Very well played and deserved. Truly a Legend, in addition to being a great ambassador for Australian disc golf.
    Cheers
